Ballintean Mountain Lodge is perfect for peaceful and uplifting group retreats, holidays and workshops. Set in a private, elevated position amongst open woodland, Mountain Lodge has a rustic, contemporary feel with furnishings inspired by the natural landscape around us.

The Lodge comfortably accommodates twelve guests in a mix of single, double and twin bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities. The light and airy two-tier lounge - ideal for group discussions - offers views across Glenfeshie, whilst the dining room, full of rural charm, allows everyone to get together and enjoy a relaxing dining experience.

Speaking of dining, we’ve accommodated wildlife watching, photography, walking, cycling, fitness, yoga and wellbeing groups and we’ve found that taking the worry out of preparing meals, allows the group to fully focus on their chosen activity. Our small catering team of Gilly, Sam and Dougal, provides home-cooked, locally-sourced, contemporary cuisine and can cater for a wide range of dietary requirements. From the Lodge, a two-minute walk takes you to the rushing waters of the River Feshie with many other walks and trails starting right from the door.

Speak to Amanda to discuss how we can create a memorable experience for your group.

CATERING

We are proud to work with a small and talented team of in-house cooks who prepare fresh, wholesome and homely meals. From tasty, nutritious stews using local venison to sticky toffee pudding in a caramel sauce; from rich and hearty homemade soups to a light and delicate raspberry sorbet. If you’re staying at our lodge, all meals are provided with the option for a selected range of organic wines.

OUR SUPPLIERS

We work with the following local suppliers, to support rural businesses and help reduce food miles:

Highland Wholefoods is a workers co-operative situated in the city of Inverness. The company is wholly owned by its employees and is democratically run with a non-hierarchical structure.  Ballintean sources much of its vegetarian and vegan products from Highland Wholefoods as well as Fairtrade food and drink.

Donald Gilmour Butchers

Ballintean gets all of its meat from Donald Gilmour, a family butcher in nearby Kingussie. All of Donald’s meat comes from his own farm or neighbouring farms in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park

Pro Fish

Ballintean sources its fish from Aviemore-based Pro Fish, a family shop that sources its fish directly from Scottish ports.

Mark Murphy is a family-owned company based in Perth operating a fleet of refrigerated vehicles throughout Scotland and employing 120 staff. Mark Murphy supplies all of our vegetables and fruit.

Ballintean sources its toilet rolls and tissues from Greencane, a company that uses sugar cane and bamboo as a low-impact alternative to tree-based paper. All of Greencane’s packaging is plastic-free.

Cairngorm Brewery Company is a craft brewery established in 2001, situated in the village of Aviemore within the Cairngorms National Park.

Our organic wine comes from this small company, led by two friends passionate about good-quality organic wine.

All our mattresses have been manufactured by the Inverness company Highland BlindCraft, which was established over 140 years ago to provide employment for blind children. Today, as a registered charity, Highland BlindCraft is still run on the same founding principles, employing people with a variety of disabilities from all over the Highlands and Islands.

Established in 1886, Beale and Pyper Ltd of Grantown on Spey, have a deserved reputation as one of the leading Scottish suppliers of quality furnishings, flooring and fabrics.

Unique Scottish home furnishings with a commitment to sustainable work practices, Anta are our type of business!
